With reference to your letter No.24693/1925

of 9th ultimo, regarding the proposed Conference to

consider the steps to be taken for the prevention

of piracy in the Canton Delta, I am commanded by My

Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to request that,

as the Hong Kong Government are more directly con-

cerned with this question, that the Secretary of

State will appoint a President for this Conference.

My Lorda will be represented by Captain W.

Tomkinson, C.B., M.V.O., Director of the Operations

Division, and Mr. P.E. Marrack, 0.8.E.
